Avoiding change is impossible in the world we live today. Adaptability enables us to see change as positive.
Itâs natural to resist the uncertainty and fear associated with change. However, by embracing a âgrowth mindsetâ in which change is an opportunity for development AND by understanding that you are PERFECT âwork in progressâ, you gain a frame of reference that helps you become more adaptable.
You can change your relationship to change. You can learn to turn toward what scares you, and in turn, you gradually adapt and grow during uncertainty and discomfort in life.

You resist change because you may be afraid of losing your status, competence, relevance or anything similar.
If you understand that you ARE PERFECT being at the same time âWORK IN PROGRESSâ, you will get used to embracing change and the challenges that accompany it and you will likely get more positive reactions from the people around you.
So start by recognizing the stress reaction and observing your attitude to change. Refrain from saying “no” immediately but rather say “let me think about it” and defer the decision until your body and mind calm down.

The most important thing to remember when it comes to mindsets is this: your thoughts and beliefs have the potential to empower or defeat you. What you tell yourself is in YOUR POWER TO control. Growth mindset is the belief that skills can be improved through learning and effort. By reframing your self-limiting thoughts as they occur, you can train your brains for positive growth and open yourself up new opportunities.
